Modernist Designed Lake Rotsee Refuge Shelter

A building that serves its purpose and looks beautiful year round for all to enjoy? The Lake Rotsee Refuge is a unique contemporary structure built by AFGH Architekten of Switzerland. The space is offered up as a viewing tower, and is also a space that allows for spectators to hang out for annual water competitions and more.

Built on a concrete slab just above the water level, this space is crafted from materials that are relatively inexpensive and left raw and unfinished. Each level has multiple windows and viewing points that all cantilever up, out and maneuver every which way. When not in use, this building folds up perfectly to appear as a unobtrusive, geometric sculpture.
